We are very proud of our City! Founded in 1900, Wabasso derives its name from the Ojibwe word for “snowshoe hare” or more generally “rabbit”. Wabasso is a full-service community located in the heart of Redwood County, Minnesota that is proud of its agriculture heritage. We are praised for our community pride and for the attributes of a small-town atmosphere, yet we welcome opportunities to accommodate new growth, and seek new ideas from residents, business partners and visitors.
Wabasso offers a variety of community services including a K through 12 public school and a K through 6 private Catholic school.
Our top-notch volunteer ambulance service and fire department are furnished with state-of- the-art equipment to keep us safe. We are very fortunate to have such caring citizens within our community.
