Ordinance No. 246 – Parking of Motor homes, Trailers etc.

An Ordinance Regulating the Parking of Motorhomes, Camper Trailers, Utility Trailers, Buses and Similar Vehicles and Providing a Penalty for Violation Thereof

The City of Wabasso Does Hereby Ordain:

Section 1. Parking Prohibited: The parking of motorhomes, campers, camper trailers, buses, utility trailers, trailers for hauling of water craft, four wheelers or snowmobiles and other similar vehicles on the city streets or blocking alley ways of the City of Wabasso, unless for a period of no more than twenty-four (24)  hours for the purpose of loading or unloading, is prohibited.

Section 2. Exceptions:  Subd. A.  Any owner of a trailer holding equipment to be used while construction, renovation or maintenance of a structure that may be parked on a city street while such construction, renovation or maintenance is taking place must first notify the Wabasso City Office that said trailer will be parked on the street for the duration of the project.

Subd. B The parking of the above mentioned vehicles on a city street while awaiting service or having been serviced and awaiting pickup at any of the local business establishments is not considered in violation of this ordinance.

Section 3. Penalty: Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction be guilty of a petty misdemeanor. The penalty which may be imposed for any petty offense which is a petty misdemeanor shall be a sentence of a fine not more than that which is established by M.S. 609.0331, as may be amended from time to time. A separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during which a violation occurs or continues.

This Ordinance becomes effective on the date of its publication, or upon the publication of a summary of the ordinance as provided by MN Stat. Section 412.191, subd. 4 as it may be amended from time to time, which meets the requirements of MN. Stat. Section 331A.01, subd. 10 as it may be amended from time to time.
